The Reformed Church in Limmen is build in the 13th century on a beach shore and has a late-Romanesque tower. During the Eighty Years War the church was partially destroyed. 25 years later the church was rebuilt. Limmen is a village in the municipality of Castricum in the province of Noord-Holland. It is one of the oldest villages in this province. It lies almost directly on to Heiloo. Because of the sandy soils is Limmen become the center of the bulbs growing in Noord-Kennemerland. The annual "Bloemendagen" (Flowerdays) are a tradition in Limmen in the month of May. People living there make mosaics with the flowers of the Hyacinthus orientalis and set up the mosaics in front of their house. Tijdens de Tachtigjarige Oorlog werd de kerk gedeeltelijk verwoest. 25 jaar later werd de kerk weer opgebouwd. Bron: X
